Swimming Lessons

Today Mummy took me for my first swimming lesson. I thought it was great. The pool was a million times bigger than my paddling pool and we got to splash and sing at the same time. I can imagine this is what heaven is like. I even went under the water a couple of times. I made a new friend called Taya. She has an English Mummy! I can't believe we have to wait a whole week before we go back!

One week on we got to go back to swimming and my friends Roman and Emily were there. Our class has doubled in size now. Emily's Mummy took some pics of us in the water.

My cousin Vinnie

This morning Mummy took me around to Vinnie's house. She's double my age and double my size. She seemed to like patting my head. We got to give Jack his 6th birthday present. Boy is he growing up quick!

Showering with Daddy

The other day I got to go in the shower with Daddy. I used to shower with him lots when I was a little baby but I'd forgotten all about it. I wasn't too impressed at first but I soon warmed up to the idea. I generally love anything involving water! Mummy's taking me to swimming lessons this week. Wahoo, I can't wait!

I'm a cutey!

Here are some cute pictures of me that don't really have a story. Mummy just keeps taking pictures all day long!!!

I have feet!

I thought my hands were the best toys ever but I've now discovered I've got feet too so I can have twice as much fun!

Silly faces

I love pulling funny faces. Daddy thinks I look like I'm doing the Maori Haka sometimes.

Visiting Granny

Mummy took me to visit Granny. She's so much fun. She teaches me strange faces and noises that Mummy and Daddy don't particularly like. My latest noise sounds a bit like a lawn mower or motorbike. Mummy doesn't particularly like it when I try out when eating pumpkin and carrot as it results in quite a mess!

My friend Sylvie

Yesterday we went to my friend Sylvie's house for pancakes! She has grown so big. She used to be smaller than me but now she's a whole kilogram heavier. I'm still taller though! I had lots of fun eating her and rolling on top of her. I'm going to get to see her again this Friday. Yay!

My first growling

I bit Mummy's nipple and she was less than impressed and said "No Bella" in a growly tone. I thought this new sound was great so I growled back at her! Then I continued on babbling and cooing away. I'm not sure it had the desired effect Mummy was hoping for! This is actually a picture of Daddy and I playing lions rather than the incident above!

Alex's exersaucer

I went to Aunty Sarah's the other day and Alex let me have a go in his exersaucer. I thought it was great. I'm hoping Mummy will take me back to play there as they have lots of fun toys!

I can sit up!

Mummy discovered during nudy rudy time that I can actually sit up if I hold my toes. I haven't got the best posture and my balance isn't great yet but I'm working on it!

Solids!

Finally Mummy has let me have some real food. I've been wanting it for ages but she just keeps quoting the World Health Organisation Guidelines which say "babies should be exclusively breastfed until 6 months of age". I think she finally got sick of me waking her in the night starving to death so she caved in and gave me kumara yesterday. I was a bit unsure at first but I liked the last 3 or 4 spoonfuls. I slept through the night with a nice full belly!

I'm a tall girl

This morning I went to plunket and it turns out I'm tall! I'm now in the 85th percentile for my height but I'm only between the 15th and 50th for my weight. Perhaps, I'm going to be a super model!

Daddy's Birthday!

Today was Daddy's birthday. We went for a picnic with some of Mummy and Daddy's friends in the Hamilton Gardens. We finally managed to get a picture of Izzy, Me and Oscie all together. Mummy made Daddy a yummy carrot cake! The cake pictured is the one Granny got Daddy. He was lucky to get 2 cakes!

Gwen comes to visit

Mummy's godmother came to visit me. She used to be Mummy's plunket nurse. She thought Mummy had the same honey blonde coloured hair as me as a baby. We went for a walk to a playground and I got to share a pushchair with Cousin Alex.

Ducky Dummy

I love my rubber duckies. I've discovered I can turn my duckies into dummies. I can fit the whole head of the ducky in my mouth.

My first tooth!

Today, on my 5 month birthday, Mummy discovered that I had my first tooth! It's my bottom right one! It seemed to come through without too much trouble. However, it may explain why I started waking in the night crying when I'm normally a super sleeper! This is not my most flattering picture!

New Year's Eve

Somehow I managed to convince Mummy and Daddy that it would be fun to have people over for New Years so I could play with the other kids. Izzy and I got to go swimming in my paddling pool. I got to try out my high chair for the first time and I thought it was great. I'm confused as to why Alex and Izzy get food in the high chair and I just get toys. I'm sure one day soon Mummy will give me some real food! Mummy and Daddy managed to stay up until 2am!

Holidaying in Raglan - Part 2

I got to go to the beach for the very first time. I thought it was loads of fun. I tried eating the sand but realised it wasn't that tasty and didn't put my hands in my mouth again after that. Mummy and Daddy only let me dangle my feet in the water as it was pretty cold but I didn't mind. I would have gone swimming if they'd let me. Daddy and I tried out my new bucket and spade and made a sandcastle.

Holidaying in Raglan - Part 1

We went on our first family holiday to Raglan Beach (a 45 minute drive from our house). We got to stay in Granny and Grandad's caravan. I thought it was pretty cool. It was just like being at home except everything was on a smaller scale. Mummy and Daddy had to bath me in a silver tub!

Ellie and Matta came to visit us. I modelled the onsie that Ellie screen printed for me. Daddy and Matta jumped off the Raglan pedestrian bridge with all the other kids and went swimming!
