Netball

Bella has been playing netball after school on Wednesdays. I'm her netball coach! She's really enjoyed it. It's been fun teaching the kids but it has become hard to manage now that El-Rez has left so in some ways I'm glad that it's finished for the year!

As I'm usually ref, coach and manager of the team I haven't managed to get any good photos. However, I got a few at the end of the game of Bella and Brianna. There's also some that Brianna's Mum took of Bella doing some great defending and some of the girls shooting hoops at the school in the weekend!

Bella's Cross Country

Bella did her first Cross Country on Thursday. Years 0-2 didn't get to enter a competitive race which Bella was a little bit annoyed about. She had been training with Daddy. However, they got to do a fun run which parents and siblings could participate in too. Bella did an amazing job running non-stop for 20 minutes and completing 7 laps of the course.

Lucia also did her first cross country. She has her Daddy's running style so I'm sure she's also going to be a good runner. Lucia and I completed 2 laps! Well Lucia really did 1.5 laps before getting distracted by the daisies and stacking the cones so I had to run carrying her to complete our last half a lap in the 20 minute time frame.

As you will see from the outfits Bella is in the green team. Bella and her good friend Brianna dressed up as dinosaurs to run the event. Lucia looked super cute in her green tutu and wig!

Unfortunately, the red team won the challenge but there was only 3 points (or 3 laps) in it. Dam! We should have taken Zach and Daddy to run as well! Bella is already excited about running again next year!

Our first BBQ of the season!

Zach was so super excited all day that we were having a bbq for dinner. Here are the boys doing their outside cooking!

Zach can ride a two wheeler!

On Sunday, we bought Zach a very fancy 12 inch specialised bike in fire engine red. He had been practising a little bit riding Mackenzie's old bike to learn how to pedal but as soon as he had his own bike he could ride it straight away. Nanny had told him she'd give him $2 once he'd mastered it so after dinner Zach went out determined to ride his bike! We have a video of him riding from the end of the cul de sac to our garage by himself with Matt running beside just in case!

Playground Cuties

Here are Bella and Lucia at the Flagstaff Park Playground. Lucia is a complete daredevil and goes flying down the slide like a crazy lady!

Adventures with Theo

This term we are supposed to be meeting up with Aunty Sarah and Theo every second week to do a fun activity. We have a long list of activities we'd like to do like going to Leap and Jump, swimming at aqua playgym, going on a bus trip, visiting an animal park in Pirongia, and going to various playgrounds but so far we've only managed one get together at the local playground! Hopefully, we'll have plenty of fun activity photos to share soon!

An afternoon with the Choir

Bella's choir performed for the parents one Friday afternoon. Here Bella is standing next to her best friends Brianna and Maia. Bella's favourite song at Choir is "The Fight Song".

Bella's Birthday with Maia

Maia missed Bella's birthday as she was sick so Bella and her had a special little party one day after school. Maia got to make her rainbow hat and collect her party goodies. We played the chocolate game, did sack races, the egg and spoon race and musical cushions!

Jumping Beans

Here are some pictures of Lucia and Zach at Jumping Beans. I even managed to catch a picture of Emma and Lucia together. They were supposed to be doing their jumping beans class together but so far they've only managed two classes so far. Emma and Lucia are born a week apart and will both go to Endeavour School together. They both have big sisters there already!

Bella's School Birthday

For Bella's School Birthday we took in some cupcakes that she could share with her "Ako" (Care) Group at school. It was a good way to use some of the left over icing and fondant decorations. The kids thought the cupcakes were delicious!

Bella's 6th Birthday Party!

Bella had a super 6th Birthday Party! All the girls seemed to have a great time. The comments that we heard were "This is the perfect party", "parties at this house are always the best" and "I don't want to go home." Comments like these make all the effort worthwhile!

When the girls arrived we got them to get into rainbow theme by making rainbow hats and rainbow dancing ribbons. We then ate lots of yummy food including rainbow cupcakes and rainbow jellies. We then went on a scavenger hunt! The girls had to stick together to find and work out the 11 clues hidden around the house until they found the treasure chest filled with lollies, gold coins and stickers!

After the scavenger hunt we danced around the lounge playing active pass the parcel. While this was happening we saw the most beautiful rainbows in the sky. We then did some races downstairs - egg and spoon and sack races. We then moved onto cutting the cake which was filled with MnMs and marshmallows. The time went surprisingly quickly - we didn't get to play the chocolate game, musical cushions or do the three legged race. Bella got some lovely presents. She especially loved Connect 4 and Junior Monopoly!
