Sleepy Dinner!

Dinner time has become quite interesting lately with Bella dropping her afternoon sleep. I've been very good at getting dinner on the table at 5pm but despite my best efforts Bella often falls asleep in the highchair. She's impossible to wake up!

Swapping Toys

Zach and Bella decided to try out each other's favourite toys the other day.

Solids Please!

I think Zach would love to try solids! I'm trying to hold him off for a bit longer as I'm not sure his sensitive digestive system is going to like it.

He's always trying to grab whatever we're eating and he loves sitting at or on the dinner table trying to put his fingers in the food. We watched the solids DVD yesterday so it won't be long until we're posting pictures of Zach covered head to toe in vegetables!

Story Time

Zach loves snuggling up in Bella's bed for story time. Bella would be quite happy if he stayed there all night. Perhaps in the future they'll share a room. Bella often ends up parallel to her pillow so Zach would be pushed out pretty quickly if he tried to stay there all night.

Bella and Zach

Yesterday Bella had her first Kindy photo. I was planning to get one of Zach and Bella together but the set up wasn't ideal for Zach not landing on his head. It was also freezing and there was a long queue so we took a few photos at home instead!

Kate's Birthday

It was Kate's birthday so we met her for lunch to celebrate! Zach and her came dressed in the latest fashion colour!

Meg's Visit

Meg came for lunch the other day! She's proved that public transport is better than we thought in Hamilton as she arrived an hour early!
Bella thought she was so much fun. She loved her trip to the playground!

When Meg was over we talked about what Bella wanted to be when she grew up. She used to always say a Doctor and a Hairdresser but she's now decided she'd like to be a fairy. I think this might be the influence of the fairy DVDs she's been watching!

Bella's Tricks and Stories

Bella has got really good at spelling lately. I'm sure I only told her how to spell Zach's name once and then she could remember it. I suppose becuase it's short. However her memory is amazing. She can recite quite long books.

She's learnt about rhyming and letter sounds and is now quite good at playing "I Spy" as she knows the first letter of lots of words.

She said to Matt this morning "I went toilet by myself in the night as I've noticed you like sleeping at night". She used to go by herself but then decided that going to the toilet in the night should be a spectator sport.

Her drawing has come along too. People now look like people with arms and legs etc.

Mothers' Day

Zach and Bella spoilt me rotten for Mothers' day. I got a big beautiful bunch of flowers, 6 teaspoons (I've been complaining about not having enough for ages), a lotto ticket, and a Little Treasures Magazine Subscription. I also got pancakes for breakfast and a big sleep in!

Nanny's Mothers' Day

On Sunday afternoon we went out to Nanny's house to celebrate Mothers' Day.

Sarah and Shane and the kids were there too so we celebrated Sarah getting old as well.

Mackenzie, Bella and Alex enjoyed lots of running races up and down the hallway. Zach got to try out the handbasin bath and watch the start of his first rugby game with Grandad.

Fun with Nanny

On Saturday, Nanny came to look after the kids while Grandad, Matt and I went car shopping. We came back totally confused about what car to buy and decided that we like our car so much we might just wait for another few years before trading it in. In the meantime we might invest in narrow car seats so there is a bit more room in the back! Alternatively, I might be driving a people mover soon!

Yay, The Wright Family!

On Saturday we finally caught up with Mike and Megan and their beautiful girls! We went to feed the ducks and had morning tea at the playground.

Super Zach

Nanny wanted a photo of Zach for Mother's Day so I took a few photos of him looking like a super baby in his cloth nappies.

We have similar pictures of Bella at the same age so it's fun to compare them. Zach has a much squarer head, is pudgier and has more hair.

We've just bought Zach a teething necklace. It doesn't really seem to be having much effect other than perhaps slowing down the teeth appearing. Matt thinks Zach looks pretty girly with his long dark eyelashes and necklace. I think he looks very boyish even if he does have beautiful eyes!

Bella is 2 and 3 quarters

On the 9th of May Bella was 2 and 3 quarters! She's growing up too quick! Nanny spoilt here with presents!

Today we had coffee group at our house. Bella helped me ice the cake and to keep her occupied I let her put lollies on the top. She then asked "Mummy why have we made a birthday cake?". So we decided to celebrate all the kids turning 2 and 3 quarters.

They each got to blow out a candle and make a wish. Afterwards Bella told me she'd wished for another baby. Eeeek! I think she'll be waiting a while!

Snuggly Blankets

Bella and Zach both have snuggly polarfleece blankets that they love!

Zach is really enjoying playing now. Matt was impressed with all his tricks when he got home. He can move his exersaucer round, make the music on the letterbox go, and he rolls everywhere!

Baby Reid

Emma and Chris had a little boy in early April called Reid. He's absolutely adorable! We went to see him on Monday morning and have cuddles! Zach loves seeing other babies!

Raglan

On Saturday we went to Raglan. It was a beautiful day! We enjoyed a picnic lunch, building sandcastles and playing in the water.
