My baby is 9 months!

Zach is now officially 9 months! It will be interesting to see what tricks he learns this month. He now regularly waves Goodbye and Hello to people, he can hammer in pegs, he claps his hands and he's learnt to escape from his safety sleep and stand up in his cot!

He had a weigh in at Plunket the day before his 9 month birthday and he's average height but only in the 9th percentile for weight! This seems utterly ridiculous given his chubby cheeks! I've decided my kids must have light bones! He's still bigger than Bella at the same age!

Fun in the Garden!

Zach loves being outside. He had so much fun on Saturday planting the courgettes and cucumber and eating the stones. He thought the hose was hillarious. It had him in fits of giggles! He was very dirty and exhausted after all his outdoor play!

Bella Stories

Bella asked me the other day "How does Daddy get all his money home from work?" I'm sure she's imagining a very large suitcase of cash!

I caught Bella shoving a screwdriver into one of her dolls. I said what are you doing "She said I'm playing Doctors". She was shocked to find out that Doctors don't acutally use screwdrivers to fix people.

We saw a fire engine the other day and Bella was asking if it was going to blow out a fire. I suppose she's only really experienced fire in the form of birthday candles so she assumed fire engines blew really hard to put out fires. I had to burst her bubble and explain they use water!

Bella said to me "what do you think Zach will be?" and I said "do you mean when he grows up?" and she said "yes, maybe a tennis player or a policeman or a hospital person". I said "what kind of hospital person?" and she said "one that fixes peoples' legs". Then I asked her what she was going to be when she grew up and she said "a Fairy".

Bella was creating with Duplo and said "Mummy have you ever seen a polar bear in a car?" I said "no, have you?" and surprise surprise she saw one yesterday. She even told me it was in a kids car seat. I don't think she has any idea how big polar bears are!

Callum Brae Playground

The Callum Brae Playground is lots of fun - even for adults! We were very impressed that Bella did the flying fox. She wasn't scared at all. In fact she wants me to take her back after kindy today so she can have some more turns.

Zach's First Bike Ride

We went for two family bike rides on Sunday around Ellie and Matta coming to visit.

Nanny and Grandad bought Zach a bike helmet for his 8th and 9th month birthday so we got to try it out in the weekend. Zach was a bit stunned by the whole thing but didn't complain about being in the trailer. Matt was stoked we could all go out biking together again!

Thai Dinner Party

We had a lovely Thai dinner party on Saturday night with  Michelle and Dave and Dave and Michelle. We were having such a good time that we didn't even remember to take a photo of us altogether!

However, we did take a few funny photos of Mummy and Bella before dinner showing off their orange clown mouths!

Bella and Zach were so well behaved. Bella was in bed by 6.30pm and Zach was in bed by 7pm. Bella stayed in bed all night - only getting up to go the toilet! Matt and I got to relax on the couch before our guest showed up at 7.30pm. Crazy!

Great Aunty and Uncle

Alison and Lyn came to visit Nanny and Grandad. We went to see them in Te Awamutu. Bella and Zach loved being at Nanny's house with lots of different toys. Bella and I even managed to visit Haley and the kids for afternoon tea. When we came back to pick up Zach, Bella managed to convince me we needed to stay for fish and chips. We didn't have her PJs with us so she used one of Nanny's tops as a nightie.

We had a great time until I managed lock the keys in the boot. I finally got home about 8.30pm with 2 sleeping children!

Gardening with Daddy

Zach had lots of fun outside with Daddy gardening. He helped him plant the tomatoes and sweep the deck. He was also very good at eating the dirt and getting himself wet playing with the hose. Doesn't he look good in Bella's pink outdoor suit!

Sleeping Boy

Babies look so cute when they're asleep! Zach has the most gorgeous long dark eyelashes. I could look at him for hours!

Zach's spikey hairdo!

Zach's hair is getting so long. It's fun styling it in the bath to create mohawks and spikes. It's looking more and more likely that he's going to have a head of curls to match his sisters!

Washing Basket Car

Bella and Zach love pretending the washing basket is a car. Bella races up and down the hallway with Zach in the basket giggling away! It's so cute to watch.

Zach's Bath Seat

Zach has a new bath seat which is good for trapping him in and out of the bath! We're hoping that we'll be able to use it in his paddling pool this summer.

Zach and his trolley

Zach has been able to walk pushing things since he was 6.5 months old. He loves pushing around his trolley. It still makes for scary watching for Mum and Dad.

Home from hospital - Hooray!

Poor little Zach has been so sick with a cold/flu that he had to admitted to hospital and put on oxygen! He's on the road to recovery now!

We are both glad to be home from hospital. Zach was especially pleased to see "Russ" (his teddy bear that he sleeps with).

Sunglasses

Bella and Zach looked pretty funny in the sunglasses they got from Keeley's birthday. I recently bought Zach some Baby Banz but he hates them and pulls them off! It looks like he'll just be wearing a hat this summer if he has his way!

Fathers' Day

We celebrated Fathers' Day with lots of chores! Lucky Daddy!

We did buy him some presents, make him some lemon fudge and have pancakes with him for brunch. Bella made a lovely hairclip sculpture which was an elaborate pretend pancake.

Daddy fixed his bike, washed the car, planted the garden and mowed the lawn! What a good Daddy! Bella and Zach loved being outside in the sun!

Missy Bear and Mr Bear

Bella has a large white bear called Missy Bear and now Zach has a large brown bear called Mr Bear. These were mine when I was little. The kids think they're great and they get lots of love and cuddles.

Colour co-ordinated duplo

I thought this was pretty cool. Bella grouped all the duplo together based on their colour.

Zach Outdoors

Zach loves being outside and given there isn't too much he can climb up onto it, it's probably the safest place for him at the moment. He thinks the grass and dirt are pretty tasty and he loves eating herbs off the deck.

Kindy Boy Alex

Alex came to play on Thursday morning! He's completely changed since starting Kindy. He's very sociable and confident and has a funny sense of humour. Bella thought it was hillarious he wanted to cook toilet paper for dinner!
