Lucia's 1st Birthday Party

We had a little family party on Saturday to celebrate Lucia turning 1. Most people were away at Easter so we decided to keep it small. We thought we'd embrace the Easter theme so Lucia had a bunny cake. It turned out really well - the bunny looked super cute in it's little bunny hole surrounded by grass and flowers. We decorated Easter egg shaped cookies, played pass the parcel, and did a treasure hunt for Easter eggs. The kids also enjoyed some dancing and lots of playing with the toys inside and out.

Making the most of El-Rez

We have got a trainee nanny called El-Rez for 20 weeks. This means we have a little bit more time to do fun stuff. Here are Lucia and Zach making a helium balloon, painting, enjoying "Born to Move" at Les Mills, making grass people and baking.

3 kids in a bath!

Why is that kids look so cute in the bath? Lucia just loves bath time - she may be part mermaid!

Dressing Up

Zach spends his life playing fires and construction sites. Every evening after the bath Daddy, Zach and Lucia pretend our car is a fire truck. Every time Lucia hears the word "fire" she starts making a siren noise "we-oo, we-oo" and tries to find her helmet. It's very cute to watch. Lucia also loves putting on headbands with bunny ears, meerkat ears, sheep ears or what ever animals are available.

Bella's school friends

Bella had two of her school friends over to play after school - Maia and Brianna. The girls had such a great time together. Bella had made them friendship loom bands in their favourite colours. The time went to so quickly that the house was actually still tidy after they left.

Aunty Sarah's 40th Birthday

Aunty Sarah turned 40 in May! Wow! Lucky she doesn't look her age! I should make it clear that I'm much younger than Aunty Sarah and I have many years to go before I hit 40!

Zach insisted that Aunty Sarah must have a cake for her birthday. He helped me make a dairy free banana cake and decorate it with her name, flowers, lollies and candles. Apparently, it tasted better than the professionally made Girl on the Swing's cake so we must have done a good job.

We went out to lunch to celebrate. Lucia loved driving Theo crazy by trying to steal his watering can. He kept running after her saying "no no no". She just loves to wind boys up especially Zach!

Lucia getting maternal!

Bella is a good influence on Lucia. Bella has always been very maternal and she's been working on Lucia to make sure she takes care of her baby doll Ava. It's still a bit hit and miss with Ava going flying across the room and being chucked on the floor in favour of Lucia climbing in the pram but she also gives her doll lots of cuddles. Lucia just loves playing with Bella so if that means playing dolls she'll do it!
