Sleeping Beauties

I love seeing the kids asleep - they look so peaceful. Zach is always go to sleep in strange places.

The Karangahape Gorge Tunnel

On Easter Monday we went to the Karangahape Gorge and cycled through a very long (over 1km) dark tunnel. Bella led the way with her super bright light.

We got a little bit stuck when we tried to cycle on further along a track that wasn't wide enough for our bicycle trailer. While we were trying to turn around poor Bella feel down a bank but she was fine.

Fire Station Visit

This morning Zach, Lucia and I went to the fire station. We had a great time! One of the fire fighters read us a story and explained what we need to do in a fire - "get out and stay out". He told us that you need to "meet at the letterbox and wait for the fire engine to arrive". He also made sure that if the kids found matches or lighters they knew what to do with them - i.e. give them to an adult to put away.

After that we got to look at the fire engine and see where they kept the hoses and spare air.  Zach even tried on a big fire helmet. Zach got to be the driver of the fire truck and we all checked out the back seats. After that Lucia and Zach both had a turn a spraying the big hose. They loved the big round fire stickers that they got too.

As we left we looked at the fire hydrant and listened to the fire engine siren going we-u we-u we-u. What a great time we all had! Zach definitely wants to be a fireman when he grows up! He came home and got dressed in his fireman costume straight away!

Worn out!

Lucia has dropped her afternoon nap which means sometimes by dinner she is exhausted. Here she is asleep in the middle of dinner.

Dressing up like Bella

Here is Lucia's wearing Bella's clothes which are 6 sizes too big for her. She found them on Bella's floor and insisted we put them on. She wants to be just like her big sister!

Bye Bye Caitlin

Caitlin, one of Bella's kindy and Te Totara school friends has left to go back to the UK. Here Lucia and Bella are at Caitlin's leaving party.

Daddy's Work Dinner

We all went out to Daddy's work  bbq at his boss Nigel's house. We ate some delicious food and the kids loved playing with all the toys inside and out. They looked very stylish in their nice clothes!
